23 JANUARI 2001. - Overeenkomst tussen het Koninkrijk België en de Democratische Volksrepubliek Korea inzake het aanknopen van diplomatieke en consulaire betrekkingen

Het Koninkrijk België en de Democratische Volksrepubliek Korea zijn overeengekomen diplomatieke en consulaire betrekkingen aan te knopen volgens onderstaande bepalingen. Daartoe werd besloten ingevolge de formele erkenning van de Democratische Volksrepubliek Korea als soevereine en onafhankelijke Staat door het Koninkrijk België op 17 september 1991 en gelet op de verbeterde betrekkingen tussen het Noorden en het Zuiden van het Koreaanse schiereiland. 1. De bepalingen van het Verdrag van Wenen van 18 april 1961 inzake Diplomatiek Verkeer en het Verdrag van Wenen van 24 april 1963 inzake Consulair Verkeer zullen van toepassing zijn op de diplomatieke en consulaire betrekkingen tussen het Koninkrijk België en de Democratische Volksrepubliek Korea.2. De diplomatieke betrekkingen worden aangegaan op ambassadeursniveau.3. Er zullen niet-residerende ambassadeurs worden geaccrediteerd.Het Koninkrijk België accrediteert zijn Ambassadeur in Seoul; de Democratische Volksrepubliek Korea accrediteert haar Ambassadeur in Stockholm. De plaats van accreditatie kan worden gewijzigd met wederzijdse toestemming. 4. Het ambassadepersoneel zal voor het Koninkrijk België vanuit Seoul worden geaccrediteerd en voor de Democratische Volksrepubliek Korea vanuit Stockholm.Beide Staten behouden zich de mogelijkheid voor ook diplomaten met standplaats in andere hoofdsteden in de regio te accrediteren. 5. Het aanknopen van diplomatieke en consulaire betrekkingen treedt in werking op de datum van ondertekening van dit document. Brussel, 23 januari 2001.

23 JANUAR 2001. - Agreement between the democratic people's Republic of Korea and The Kingdom of Belgium relating to the establishment of diplomatic and consular relations The Democratic People's Republic of Korea and the Kingdom of Belgium have agreed to establish diplomatic and consular relations on the basis of the following rules. This follows the formal recognition of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea by the Kingdom of Belgium as a Sovereign and Independent State on the 17th of September 1991, and takes into account the improvement in relations between the North and the South in the Korean peninsula. 1. The provisions of the Vienna Convention of 18th of April 1961 on Diplomatic Relations and of the Vienna Convention of the 24th of April 1963 on Consular Relations shall be applicable to diplomatic and consular relations between the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and the Kingdom of Belgium.2. Diplomatic relations shall be established at Ambassador level.3. Non-resident Ambassadors shall be accredited.The Democratic People's Republic of Korea shall accredit its resident Ambassador in Stockholm; the Kingdom of Belgium shall accredit its resident Ambassador in Seoul. The origin of co-accreditation can be changed by mutual consent. 4. The Embassy personnel shall be accredited, for the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, from Stockholm, and for the Kingdom of Belgium, from Seoul.The two States reserve the possibility of accrediting diplomats residing in other capitals of the region. 5. The establishment of diplomatic and consular relations shall come into force on the date of the signing of this document.
