FEDERALE OVERHEIDSDIENST BUITENLANDSE ZAKEN, BUITENLANDSE HANDEL EN ONTWIKKELINGSSAMENWERKING

Oproep tot de kandidaten voor betrekkingen als assistent-deskundigen Elk jaar stelt het Directoraat Generaal Ontwikkelingssamenwerking (DGOS) jonge specialisten, universitairen of houders van een diploma hoger onderwijs, ter beschikking van verschillende organisaties van de Verenigde Naties.

Van de kandidaten wordt een nuttige beroepservaring van minstens twee jaar verwacht.

De leeftijdsgrens is 32 jaar, bereikt op 31 december 2003.

Ze kunnen zich aanbieden voor maximum drie posten.

De arbeidsovereenkomsten worden afgesloten tussen de assistent-deskundige en de internationale organisatie voor een periode van één jaar. Mits een gunstige beoordeling, mag het contract verlengd worden voor een totale maximale periode van drie jaar.

De assistent-deskundigen zijn volledig ten laste van de Belgische Schatkist.

De aangeduide kandidaten zullen binnen de drie maanden die volgen op hun aanvaarding door de betrokken organisatie van de Verenigde Naties, hun post opnemen.

Elke kandidaat is gebonden te antwoorden op de huidige oproep niettegenstaande elke voorafgaande kandidatuur.

De indieningstermijn voor de kandidaten is vastgesteld op dertig kalenderdagen die volgen op de publicatie van deze oproep (van 31 januari tot en met 3 maart 2003) in het Belgisch Staatsblad verwacht op volgend adres : Cfr adressen in de postbeschrijving.

The Associate Expert should have a solid academic training in the economics of development, with emphasis on macroeconomics and/or development finance issues. He/she should be familiar with socio-economic conditions in LDCs and have a sound understanding of the ways in which the international economy interacts with the domestic economy in the context of developing countries. The Associate Expert should be familiar with macroeconomic policy and development finance policy debates. An understanding of their relationship to the poverty dynamics and the achievement of poverty reduction goals would be an advantage.

Work experience 2 years in the areas of international economics and development, in particular with respect to least developed countries.

Furthermore, the Associate Expert should have international experiences through studying and/ or working outside of his/ her home country.

A solid academic background at the post-graduate level in demography, economics or other related social sciences; ? Fluency in English. Knowledge of an additional UN Language, preferably French and/or Spanish is desirable. ? Ability to write clearly and concisely; ?
